McConnell added that the Senate will “begin the process” of addressing President Trump’s request that Congress increase relief payments to $2,000.
Trump reacted to Mitch McConnell blocking Democrats’ request for a vote on $2,000 stimulus payments, tweeting: « Unless Republicans have a death wish, and it is also the right thing to do, they must approve the $2000 payments ASAP. »
The House voted 275-134 on Monday to increase the stimulus payments set to go out to American households in the coming weeks.
